Employee volunteerism propels Nationwide jump to #11 on PEOPLE magazine’s 100 Companies That Care list
For the seventh year running, PEOPLE magazine has named Nationwide to its 100 Companies That Care list. The company is ranked 11, up from number 43 last year.
Based on confidential feedback from the Great Place to Work annual survey, the Companies That Care list represents input from more than 1.1 million employees on how their workplaces have made a difference in their lives and communities. Only Great Place to Work-Certified™ organizations are eligible for the list.
PEOPLE magazine called out Nationwide’s volunteerism and its impact across the communities where its employees work. For example, more than 180 of Nationwide’s leaders serve on nonprofit boards across the country. Employee volunteerism is celebrated at the company, and recently Denise Cook, Colleen McConahay and John-Paul Purssord received a prestigious CEO Award for their impact in the community.
“Our caring culture is what makes honors like this possible and is a credit to the thousands of our associates who volunteer in their communities every day,” says Vinita Clements, chief human resources officer at Nationwide. “We are all so extremely proud of this recognition from PEOPLE for the seventh year in a row.”
